Our story’s a pretty simple one:
The people who made Clean Finds are humans (a small family, in fact).
Those humans enjoy saving money by finding good deals and they use deal-finding sites to help find the best deals.
They prefer buying things that are good for the planet.
They noticed there weren’t really any decent sites for finding good deals on eco-friendly products.
Why not? Wondered the humans.
Nobody was doing it, so they did it. How many times have you heard that line?
Why It Matters
Sustainable products almost always cost more than conventional ones, so we think it’s important to find them for the best price possible. Clean, well made products shouldn’t just be a luxury for the rich.
As Patagonia founder Yvon Chounard says in his book Let My People Go Surfing , “the poor cannot afford to buy cheap”. Buying poorly made stuff or eating unhealthy foods is eventually going to cost you more in the long run.
If people keep buying nasty products, they’ll keep making nasty products. If people buy better products, better products will get made.
Our hope here at Clean Finds is that by working as a community to find and share enough good deals, we’ll make an impact on what’s getting made.
Everything we buy is going to have some impact on our Earth – that’s unavoidable. Fortunately, we do get some say in the kind of impact we want to have.
If the options that seem to be available are cheap and made from non-renewable resources, we can look for for something a little better. We can find the good.
We Can’t Do It Without You
We don’t actually sell anything. Clean Finds is not a store. Most of the deals we feature are discovered by Clean Finds community members and shared here via our forums.
The Clean Finds team spends each day sorting through hundreds of those deals to find the best of the best to feature on our homepage. We feature only real discounts on great eco-friendly products, from trusted brands with no greenwashing.
By sharing the good deals you find with the rest of the Clean Finds community, you’re not only helping out other people financially, but also helping the sorts of companies that want to save the planet. It’s a win win.
